De Ruijter's birth sprinkles, a festive tradition since 1860!
These blue and white birth sprinkles from De Ruijter consist of aniseeds surrounded by several layers of sugar. Traditionally, these sprinkles are sprinkled with butter on a biscuit and served to the guests who come for a maternity visit when a boy is born. Of course these sprinkles are also delicious on bread and if there is no birth to celebrate!
